CREDNCE IN ACTION / Imports

Before
It Ships.

A supplier’s photograph. Or the equipment you ordered?

Kojo is importing ten industrial sewing machines for a workshop in Accra. He funds and locks the full order before work begins. The supplier earns releases by completing agreed milestones, including the required pre-shipment checks.

AGREEMENT / EVIDENCE / DECISIONCrednce in action

01 / The specification

Start with the machine. Not the sales photograph.

Kojo and the supplier agree the model requirements, motor specification, condition, accessories and documents for all ten machines.

They agree the inspection and release milestones in Crednce. Kojo then funds and locks the full accepted order before the supplier starts; later milestones do not depend on later deposits.

A precise order gives both parties something concrete to review.

What belongs in the agreement?

List the exact technical requirements, quantities, included accessories, condition and required documentation. Name the inspection requirements and who bears the agreed shipping and arrival responsibilities.

The example is not a technical recommendation or quotation. Actual equipment requirements and import obligations must be established for the transaction.

02 / The inspection

Ten units inspected. One mismatch to resolve.

The arranged pre-shipment inspection records a different motor specification on one machine. Nine match that specific check; one does not.

The exception stays beside the original requirement. Kojo can request a correction and updated inspection evidence instead of assuming that the whole batch is acceptable.

A finding on one requirement is not approval of every requirement.

Explore the inspection evidence

Identify the inspected units and the requirement being checked. Keep the reviewer’s findings and any relevant supporting evidence connected to the order.

Inspection scope, reviewer qualifications, availability and cost must be agreed. This example does not contain a real inspection report.

How is the exception closed?

The supplier proposes a correction. The affected unit is checked again against the requirement, and the resulting decision is recorded. A replacement claim is not itself a completed reinspection.

03 / The payment

The money is funded. The next release is earned.

The entire order was funded and locked before execution. In this example, the pre-shipment allocation has not been released: the identified mismatch still needs correction and the required review is incomplete.

Crednce links the release decision to the completed milestone and evidence. Once it is approved, that allocation can be released; the arrival allocation remains locked. Kojo is not asked to fund the original balance again.

Funding is confirmed at the start. Approval controls each later release.

What must happen before payment?

Complete the agreed requirements, address the exception and record approval before releasing this milestone’s existing allocation. A funded order is not permission to pay before performance, and a request for payment is not proof of completion.

There is no payment button in this story. Payment processing and settlement belong to the payment partner; the page does not execute a transfer.

04 / The arrival

Shipped is a stage. Not the end of the order.

Once the parties have addressed the pre-shipment conditions, the supplier can record the shipment documents. Arrival and receipt remain later, separate events.

Kojo reviews the received equipment and documents against the arrival requirements. The funds for this stage are already locked. Outstanding installation or handover requirements must be completed where included before the applicable final release.

Shipping documentation does not mean the workshop has accepted the machines.

What if the arrival check finds a problem?

Record the specific difference, the received units and supporting evidence. Review it against the supplier’s and other parties’ actual obligations.

Resolve the issue through the agreed process. Do not infer liability or an automatic refund from a single status update.

FULLY FUNDED. RELEASED BY MILESTONE.

Less relying on reassurance. More checking the requirement.

Kojo and the supplier share a fully funded agreement, the inspection exception and the evidence needed for each release. The arrival balance is already committed not another payment promise to chase.

Does Crednce replace an inspector or import adviser?

No. This story connects the agreed workflow. Qualified inspection, transaction-specific advice, logistics, import requirements and their costs must be arranged separately as appropriate.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

A few practical
questions.

The example is a starting point. The actual agreement needs to fit your deal.

Can Kojo pay a deposit now and fund the rest on arrival?

No. The full agreed order amount must be funded and locked before execution. The supplier receives milestone releases from those funds only after the relevant work is completed and approved.

Does a shipping document prove the machines are correct?

No. Review the applicable specification, inspection and arrival evidence. A document for one stage does not establish that all conditions are satisfied.

Are shipping, duties and installation included?

Only if included in the accepted scope. Agree these responsibilities and costs before funding the full deal. A later scope increase requires the additional amount to be agreed, funded and locked before the added work starts.

Crednce requires the full agreed deal amount to be funded and locked before execution. Releases follow completed milestones and the agreed approval or resolution process. Payment partners handle processing and settlement. Confirm supported workflows, locations, currencies, fees, verification services and applicable terms before committing funds.
